ARQUITECTURA-G X KALEOS

A NEW WORLD IS HERE

KALEOS presents the most anticipated collaboration of the year. This time the brand joined forces with Arquitectura-G, a renowned architectural studio to create a new world of frames. What is better than partnering with architects to explore the depths of shapes.

Arquitectura-G is an architecture studio based in Barcelona, founded in 2006. Their approach centers around crafting bespoke solutions to create architecture that is both humane and precise. In a unique collaboration with KALEOS, Arquitectura-G applied their design philosophy to eyewear, simplifying geometry and pushing the boundaries of construction.

The result is a meticulously handcrafted frame in Japan, made from 100% titanium and available both as sunglasses and optical frames in three distinct colors. It includes an elastic tube for effortless adjustment, ensuring a comfortable fit for any head size.

The Arquitectura-G x KALEOS collaboration represents a seamless fusion of their respective visions, with a keen emphasis on perfect geometric shapes.

We met Arquitectura-G at their studio and had the chance to get to know their world better. We delved into their ideas and inspiration behind this special collaboration.

What were your first thoughts on this collaboration?

AG

The design of this frame is a search for the essential, of the elementary, the reduction of the design to an archetype of eyewear to a kind of almost platonic model.
In this regard, we were doing a lot of tests to eliminate many elements from the frames, such as the nose pads.
The same thing happened with the temples, which we were interested in having straight temples, and that also led to a lot of tests on the fixing system of the glasses.

K

What were the references or inspiration behind the design of the frame?

AG

The first frames were made in Venice around the 13th century.
The manufacturing of the lens was handmade and the machines that had the lenses were always circular.
The frame structure wrapped around this element so that it could be held on the face. This has also been an important reference point.

Why these materials and finishes?

AG

It has been a project that was born out of precision, but then, when it came to implementing it, it has been a completely artisanal manufacturing process.

What was the design and manufacturing process like?

AG

It has been a project that was born out of precision, but then, when it came to implementing it, it has been a completely artisanal manufacturing process. They are handmade in Japan and we believe that this also adds a value that goes beyond a drawing, a clean geometry.

This collaboration between Arquitectura-G and KALEOS goes beyond eyewear design, becoming an exercise in synthesis and precision. Through formal reduction and the exploration of essential geometry, the project achieves a balance between concept and craftsmanship. The result reflects an architectural vision applied to an object, alongside a commitment to innovation, where every detail responds to a clear idea: redefining the essential with rigor, sensitivity, and impeccable execution.
